The Argentine Government has accepted part of the Israel Government’s reply to its request for information on the capture of Adolf Eichmann, it was learned today, but has taken exception to other parts and may send Israel a further note on the subject.

The Argentine authorities, it was said here, accepted Israel’s explanation of how Eichmann came into Israel’s hands. They were reported displeased, however, by Israel remarks that numerous Nazi leaders had found refuge in Argentina and were still in hiding there.

Preparations for Eichmann’s trial, it was learned today, may take considerably longer. than the six to eight weeks originally estimated and may take as long as six months. Eichmann therefore is unlikely to go to trial before next year. The trial itself, it was predicted, might continue as long as six months in view of the enormous number of documents and the quantity of evidence unearthed.
