The Kehillah Ashkenazi and the Federation of Polish Landscmanshaften in Argentina this week held public meetings commemorating the sixth anniversary of the uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto.
In many homes, six candles were lit in memory of the 6,000,000 Jews in Europe who perished at the hands of the Nazis during the war. Editorials appearing in local Yiddish newspapers emphasized that the heroism displayed by the Ghetto fighters inspired the Israelis to withstand the onslaught of the Arab armies last year.
