Arie Renous, the founder of Belgian Jewish radio, has died.
Renous, who founded Radio Judaica in 1980, died Friday at the age of 73.
A Holocaust survivor from the Greek city of Salonika, he was the longtime president of the Circle Ben Gurion Jewish community center in Brussels. Renous also founded a Jewish monthly magazine, Contact J.
In a statement, the umbrella group of Jewish organizations in Belgium, CCOJB, said Renous led the “fight against injustice and anti-Semitism, for the community’s development and for the unconditional support to the State of Israel.”
