Ariel Sharon came under a hail of criticism after referring to Israel’s “occupation” of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The Israeli prime minister told legislators Tuesday that Attorney General Elyakim Rubinstein already had informed him that the preferred phrase was “disputed territories.”
