Ariel Sharon was nominated for the Israel Prize. Yoel Hasson, a lawmaker with the governing Kadima Party, appealed this week to the Israel Prize Committee to honor the comatose former prime minister at next year’s awards ceremony. Hasson proposed that Sharon win the Israel Prize for lifetime achievement, noting his service to the country both as a military commander and statesman.
