The Israel-Jordan Mixed Armistice Commission condemned Jordan today for the hand grenade attack on a children’s home at Maaleh Hamisha, in the Jerusalem area, last week. The MAC also called on Jordan to keep it informed of the preventive and disciplinary steps it had taken in reference to the incident.
The chairman of the MAC, Lt. Col. M. Tanguay, urged the Jordanian authorities to take measures to apprehend the infiltrators. He stressed the gravity of the attack on the children’s residence and noted Jordan’s responsibility and its failure to keep cease fire pledges to United Nations officials, although he was careful to state that he did not mean that the Jordan authorities were implicated in this incident.
