THE FASCIST NEWSPAPER, IL TEVERE, TODAY PUBLISHED A VIOLENT ATTACK ON THE WELL-KNOWN ITALIAN JOURNALIST GIOVANNI ENGELY, AND DECLARED HE HAD BEEN ARRESTED “FOR TREASON.” ENGELY DISAPPEARED THREE DAYS AGO. A GOVERNMENT COMMUNIQUE ISSUED YESTERDAY DESCRIBED HIM AS AN “EX-JOURNALIST” AND SAID HE WAS UNDER ARREST FOR SPREADING “CONFIDENTIAL NEWS ABROAD.”

IL TEVERE, WHICH PUBLISHES FREQUENT ARTICLES ATTACKING ITALIAN JEWS, RECALLED THAT SOME TIME AGO ENGELY’S NAME WAS INCLUDED IN A LIST OF JEWS PUBLISHED BY THE NEWSPAPER.
