Arthur Salmonsohn, 72, founder of the Discont Gesellschaft, died here today. Recently, together with Oscar Wasserman, he amalgamated the Discont Gesellschaft with the Deutsche Bank creating the largest European banking enterprise. Salmonsohn started his banking career as a poor clerk. He was known as one of the leading economists of Europe.
