Mrs. Barbara Bernstein, German “Aryan” wife of J.M. Bernstein, a British Jew, today began to serve a three and a half months’ sentence for smuggling currency. She was sentenced yesterday on that and related charges to the prison term and a fine of $200.
Mrs. Bernstein explained that “whatever I did I did to keep the marriage to my Jewish husband a secret from his orthodox mother.”
