The Palestine Government was officially asked today to increase police protection especially in the evening, for the safety of women and girls in Jerusalem and other cities. A memorandum embodying this request was submitted today to Lord Plumer, the High Commissioner, by the Executive Committee of the Vaad Leumi, National Council of Palestine Jews.

This action has become necessary due to the increase of crime in Jerusalem, particularly assaults on girls and women. The majority of attacks were directed against Jewish girls and women by Arabs. Last Night three attempts of assault upon Jewish women occurred in Jerusalem.
