The Australian Government has ordered its European consulates to extend for one year all landing permits issued to European immigrants which would expire this year or early in 1948, it was learned here. The move followed HIAS representations to the Australian Government pointing out that due to a severe shortage of shipping facilities many prospective immigrants would be stranded.

A group of 375 Jewish men, women and children are scheduled to sail from Marseille Tuesday for Palestine. They are the fourth group to emigrate under a British plan to divide the Palestine immigration quota between Cyprus intornees and residents of the British zone of Germany.
