Mr. Einfeld, president of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry. left this morning by air for New York to attend the forthcoming meeting of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany. At that meeting , Mr. Einfeld will outline the role of Australian Jewry in aiding and resettling Nazi victims, who are coming to this country in large numbers.
Mr. Einfeld will also confer with officials of the Joint Distribution Committee, HIAS and Jewish Colonization. In London he will meet with officers of the Board of deputies of British Jews and with the United Restitution Office. In Paris and Munich he will meet with Jewish leaders to help plan the evacuation of Jewish DP’s from the Foehrenwald camp in Germany. In Geneva. he will confer with OSE leaders and will afterwards visit Israel, en route home.
