The executive committee of the Council of Australian Jewry today cabled to Prime Minister Attlee, appealing for abrogation of the White Paper and the opening of Palestine to Jewish immigration.
At the same time, the Australian Palestine Committee sent the Prime Minister a similar cable signed by Bishop Pilcher of Sydney, and Prof. Woodruff of Melbourne. Emergency meetings of Zionist groups are scheduled to be held throughout the country, and delegations are to be sent to Canberra to seek the intervention of the Australian Government.
