(Jewish Telegraphic Agency)

The consular representation in Palestine of the Republic of Austria will be made with a view to satisfying Zionists and non-Zionists alike, it was learned here today.

The Consul General in Jerusalem will be a member of the Christian Socialist party, because the present Christian Socialist Government of Austria wishes to respect the feeling of the Vatican. The vice-consul in Jerusalem, however, will be a Zionist. This is meant to signify the sympathy of Austria for the Zionist reconstruction in Palestine and to develop trade relations between Austria and Palestine.
