The State Department said today that it “understands” that Egypt has delayed resumption of talks with Israel and the United States on the autonomy for the West Bank and Gaza, because of “scheduling problems.” Department spokesman David Passage said it is not a political problem.” He said the talks, scheduled to be resumed in Cairo Wednesday, will now probably begin July 13 or 14.
