Avukas will be an active sponsor of the world premiere of “The Pioneers,” Hebrew opera, November 25, it was announced yesterday. The New York Opera Company will present the work, written by Jacob Weinberg, at Mecca Temple.
“In undertaking sponsorship of the opera for the first evening, jointly with other groups. Avukah is functioning in accordance with its desire to promote every form of group activity among Jewish students through which may be transmitted the spirit of Palestine,” a statement issued by the organization said.
