Bahrein, Arab Sheikdom, Bars Postal Connection with Israel

The Arab Sheikdom of Bahrein, a Persian Gulf area which is a “protected principality” of Britain, notified Israel today that, in the future, it will bar all postal connection with Israel.

(In London, a spokesman for the British Foreign Office told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that the British postal services act “only as agents” for the Sheikdom of Bahrein” and have “no responsibility for Bahrein’s political decisions. “)
