Bars to Refugees Called Cruel, Unjust

Commenting editorially on the forthcoming Evian refugee-aid conference, the News-Chronicle declared today that the practice by countries of not admitting refugees because of poverty and incapacity to satisfy immigration regulations, was cruel and unjust and stood as a reproach to a civilization which tolerated it.

Commander Oliver Locker-Lampson, Conservative M.P., today requested German Ambassador Herbert von Dirksen to receive a British delegation wishing to protest the anti-Semitic drive in Germany. The request was made in a telegram which said that the delegation would represent all parties in Parliament.
