The Colonial Office announced today appointment of William Denis Battershill as Chief Secretary of the Palestine Government to succeed John Hathorn-Hall, who has been transferred to Zanzibar. Mr. Battershill, who is Colonial Secretary in Cyprus, has served the Government in Ceylon. He was named to the Cyprus post in 1934.
