The Belgian Government announced today that it will sign the Tokyo convention against aerial piracy. Foreign Minister Pierre Harmel made the announcement in reply to a Parliamentary question. A bill calling for ratification of the treaty was presented in Parliament on July 29 as a consequence of the hijacking of the El Al airliner by Palestinian terrorists on July 23.
