Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion declared in the Knesset (Parliament) today that Israel cannot adopt an attitude of indifference to a regime which upholds discrimination in the most extreme form. He made the statement in reply to two motions filed in the Knesset, demanding a debate on Israel’s anti-Apartheid votes in the United Nations General Assembly, affecting South Africa. “Apartheid,” said the Premier, “is catastrophic, and would cause great harm to South Africa itself.”
