Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion has warned Mapam Ministers in his Cabinet to stop their campaign to abolish military government in Arab border villages, it was learned today.
The warning was issued in a letter made public today in which the Prime Minister said that if the left-wing party mustered a majority in the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, for the proposal, that would mean the end of the existing coalition Government.
Mapam’s election promises in the November 3 balloting for the present Knesset and Government included a pledge to end the military government arrangements.
