Benjamin M. Cohen, Publisher of Winnipeg Jewish Paper, Dead

Benjamin Maximillian Cohen, founder and publisher of the Jewish Post of this city for more than 28 years, died here yesterday after a lengthy illness. He was 62. He was buried today in the Sharrey Zedek Cemetery.

Born in Moscow, Mr. Cohen was brought to Canada by his family. He was active in both Jewish and non-Jewish community and civic life and numbered some of Canada’s leading political figures among his friends. Mr. Cohen was a life-long Zionist and was active in publicizing campaigns for land redemption in Palestine, in promoting the drives of the Histadrut and many local and national Jewish groups.
