Anti-Semitic leaders feeding the world with the tale of “international Jewish financial control” probably will not feel so happy about the disclosures now being made in the report of the Munitions committee of the Senate on war profiteers in the United States. Not more than four or five Jewish names are among the 181 individuals listed in this report as having made a million or more for one year or more from 1915 to 1920.
This disposes fully of the anti-Semitic allegations that the Jews are the ones who benefited most by the World War. This puts an end to the legend which is so widely spread by anti-Semites, that all profiteers are Jews and that America is entirely in the hands of Jewish capitalists.
THE REAL PROFITEERS
Nobody can suspect that the investigation was inspired by Jews. As a matter of fact this investigation is the result of a long and complicated inquiry into the war industry. The American nation, through the Senate, wanted once and forever to establish who the war profiteers in the United States are and what can be done to “take the profits out of war.”
The picture given by the Munitions Committee in its report brings out the real profiteers. On the basis of documentary evidence it establishes that the people who made millions in America during the War are the non-Jewish leaders of American industries, the “big business” dictators, persons who are sometimes accused of snubbing Jews.
POST-WAR DESTRUCTION OF JEWRY
Contrasted with the millions of profits which these American non-Jewish capitalists have made from the War is the picture of post-war destruction now faced by the Jews in different European countries; the picture of three million Jews in Russia who have undergone tremendous hardships and oppressions under the Soviet regime as declassed elements; the picture of three and a half million Jews in Poland who are even now suffering inhuman privations; the precarious position of the Jews in Austria. Not to speak of the Jewish situation in Germany.
If anybody came out the loser after the war, it was the Jewish people. Economically and phychologically they are now much worse off than before the war.
A LESSON FOR MOSLEY
The anti-Semitic talk about Jews instigating the World War has turned out to be a myth now when the actual war profiteers in America are listed by none other than the U. S. Senate. Hitler in Germany, Sir Oswald Mosley in England, their followers in America, before speaking about the Jews as “war profiteers,” had better study the “list of 181,” published by the Senate Munitions Committee. They will then see who actually profited from the War and who is in actual control of American capital.
