Foreign Minister Cristobal Saenz today told President Samuel Goren of the Chilean Zionist Organization and President Don Gil Sinay of the HIAS-ICA Emigration Association that the official suspension of Jewish immigration to Chile did not constitute racial discrimination. In an audience lasting one hour, Dr. Saenz declared that the Government ban was directed against all foreigners.
