Speaking at the West London Synagogue on “Neo-Idolatry,” the Bishop of Chichester yesterday attacked German “worship of the nation.” Referring to persecution of Jews, desecration of synagogues and interferences with worshippers, the Bishop declared: “One’s whole humanity is humiliated by these actions.” He added that as a Christian he felt the terrible character of these events deeply since “it was humanity, not only Jewry that was at stake.”
