Offices of the American-organized International Order B’nai B’rith in Warsaw were sealed by the police today and the Jewish fraternal order was ordered dissolved throughout Poland on the ground that it was “of a Masonic character.” The Free-Mason organization was banned by the Polish authorities last week and its property confiscated. Property of B’nai B’rith throughout Poland was confiscated. The Warsaw, Lwow, Kattowice and Poznan lodges had property of insignificant value, but that of the Krakow lodge is valued at $10,000.
A “day without Jews” was enforced at Warsaw University by anti-Semitic students who barred the university’s entrances to Jews. Education Vice-Minister Prof. Alexsandrowicz left for Lwow to investigate the slaying of Karol Zellmeier, Jewish student at the School of Pharmacy. Zellmeier was stabbed to death Friday during an attack by an unidentified band on the campus of Lwow University. His three companions are in a hospital, suffering from stab wounds.
