B’nai B’rith Dedicates Service Flag for 11,500 Members

A service flag honoring the 11,500 members of B’nai B’rith, oldest organization of American Jewry, who are now serving in the armed forces was dedicated yesterday at the 100th annual meeting of the executive committee at Essex House, which was chaired by Henry Monsky, president, the meeting continued today.

Ohio State Senator Alfred M. Cohen, of Cincinnati, honorary president, said in the dedication speech that the organization will continue to support the ideals for which it was founded in New York in 1843. The flag, which has a gold star for forty-seven members killed in action, will hang at national headquarters in Washington. Meeting with the B’nai B’rith executive committee are the executive committees of Aleph Zadik Aleph, youth organization of B’nai B’rith, and the B’nai B’rith Vocational Service.
