A resolution urging that no member of the Jewish community in England carry on any negotiations with the British Government regarding Palestine unless he is authorized to do so was adopted here today by the Board of Deputies of British Jews by a vote of 61 to 2.
The decision was taken after Major Gluckstein, a member of the British Parliament for eleven years, announced that he and his friends who are opposed to Zionism intend to present their anti-Zionist views to the Government and to influential members of Parliament. Major Gluckstein has been a member of the Board of Deputies for the last fourteen years.
The resolution adopted by the large majority of the Board states that “unauthorized intervention with the Government with regard to Palestine by members of the community endangers the status of the community on a problem which is of vital importance to the Jewish people.”
