Jerusalem police, continuing their investigation into the blast that injured eight persons outside the Hotel Eyal in down- town Jerusalem yesterday morning, are holding an East Jerusalem Arab woman for questioning, it was learned today.
Although the investigation is being conducted under a right veil of secrecy, it was learned that the woman telephoned police shortly after the blast to say that her car had been stolen. It was a French-made Peugot 504, originally believed to have been stolen from a Tel Aviv computer firm, that blew up outside of the hotel.
The hotel management said today that the 120 foreign tourists staying there did not check out and that no reservations were cancelled as a result of the blast that demolished part of the building. Several guests who were due to leave extended their stay for another week, the management said, Yosef Pincus, of Seattle, Washington, was quoted as saying, “I was so impressed by the way the people handled things after the blast that I decided to stay longer.”
