The first anniversary of the India-Israel Review was marked today by congratulatory messages to the Bombay Jewish Association from leading officials of Bombay.
Paying tribute to the goal of the periodical of strengthening Indian-Israel friendship were Y. B. Chavan, Chief Minister of Bombay, P. T. Borale, the Mayor of Bombay, K. K. Shah, president of the Bombay Regional Congress Committee, and Kakasaheb Kaleikar, member of the Indian Parliament.
Mr. Kalelkar said in his message that Indian Jewry was “culturally a very rich community which has its inheritance in the rich composite culture of humanitarian India and the ancient international culture of Judaism.” He added that the Jews of the world were “eminently fitted, if they so chose, to evolve an international culture, based on the universal family hood of races and nations with non-violence and social justice for all.”
