The West German Government has agreed to share in the payments by Austria in restitution to former Austrian Jews who were victims of the Nazi regime, Dr. Nahum Goldmann disclosed here today.

He said the two governments were now negotiating on the extent of the West German contribution and he added that such an agreement would improve the possibility that the Austrian Government might increase its present $6,500,000 compensation offer to such Jewish victims of Nazism.

(French Foreign Office officials signed today an agreement in Bonn by which the West German Government has agreed to pay French victims, including Jewish victims, of Nazi persecution. A total of 400,000,000 Deutschemarks ($95,200,000) will be paid in compensation to the victims.)
