At a recent session of the executive committee of the American section of the Friends of the Yiddish Scientific Institute of Vilna, Menachem Boraisha, well-known Yiddish writer, was appointed executive secretary. Hitherto the efforts in this country on behalf of the Institute were conducted by a secretariat of three persons, consisting of T. L. Cahan, Dr. A. Mukdoni and Dr. Jacob Shatzky.
