Both U.S. presidential candidates said faith would play a role in how they would govern. Speaking Wednesday at the third presidential debate in Tempe, Ariz., President Bush said he has prayed for strength and wisdom as president, but respected the right of people to worship as they choose. Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee, discussed his support for abortion rights but said that as president he would not impose his faith on others.
