The Jewish community of Bratislava–at the order of the S1ovak police–has posted placards warning Hungarian Jews against coming to Bratislava, it was reported here this week-end. Refugees from Hungary assembled in the Slovak capital last week, after the Austrian border was closed to them.
Posters in the Hungarian and Slovak languages warn that henceforth all new-comers from Hungary will be punished and returned to Hungary. Punishment will also be meted out to refugees writing to Hungarian relatives urging them to come to Bratislava. The Jewish community of Bratislava has declared that it would not intervene any more with the Czechoslovak authorities in behalf of the refugees and will refuse to give them any help.
Jewish organizations in Vienna reported today that the last Hungarian refugees have left Bratislava. Vienna Jews expect strict patrolling of the borders.
