Brazilian religious leaders, including Baptists, Buddhists, Muslims, Catholics and Jews, gathered for an interfaith event last weekend. The Jewish community was represented at the June 12 Ecumenical Act for Peace by Rabbi Henry Sobel, the spiritual leader of Brazil’s largest synagogue, the 2,000-family Congregacao Israelita Paulista.
