Britain Asked to Take Action to Spur Exports to Hungary

The refusal of the Hungarian government to permit the import of Palestine oranges was under consideration today in the Colonial Office, after an ###iry made last week in the ###se of Commons.

It was established that Hungary exported to Palestine last year goods valued at over $600,000 and ### return purchased goods and material from Palestine valued at about $5,000.

“The Hungarian government must be asked to withdraw its present refusal to permit the importation of Palestine oranges into Hungary,” Sir Wilfrid Sugden informed Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister.

Sir Philip, who was present at the meeting in the Colonial Office, declared that he was aware of the trade situation and of the difficulties arising out of the import and exchange restrictions in operation in Hungary.
