FORMER ASSISTANT POSTMASTER-GENERAL SIR ERNEST BENNETT, A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT, TOLD A MEETING OF THE MUSLIM SOCIETY OF GREAT BRITAIN LAST WEEK THAT PROSPERITY WOULD RETURN TO PALESTINE IF ZIONISTS COULD BE PERSUADED TO ABANDON HOPES OF “DOMINATING PALESTINE POLITICALLY” AND REVERT TO ZIONISM “AS A SPIRITUAL THING.”

SIR ERNEST, WHO PRESIDED AT THE MEETING, SAID: “I AM NOT AN ANTI-SEMITE, BUT WHY IN THE NAME OF REASON, FOR THE SAKE OF POLISH AND OTHER JEWS, SHOULD PALESTINE CONTINUE TO BE THE SCENE OF BLOODSHED AND ENMITY, AND WHY SHOULD WE BRITISH PEOPLE INCUR AN ENDLESS EXPENDITURE OF BRITISH MONEY AND, WHAT IS STILL MORE PREVIOUS, BRITISH LIVES?”

HE SAID ZIONISTS WERE FOUND IN PARLIAMENT AND IN HIGH PLACES IN THE SOCIAL STRUCTURE, THAT THEY HAD IMMENSE WEALTH, VERY LARGELY CONTROLLED THE COUNTRY’S PRESS AND MANY INDUSTRIES. HE URGED ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ARAB BUREAU TO COMBAT ZIONIST PROPAGANDA.
