The British Government was called on today to introduce legislation prohibiting anti-Semitic and other racial incitement and discrimination. A resolution adopted at the annual meeting of the National Council of Civil Liberties declared that such measures would safeguard democracy, which, it said, was threatened by re-establishment here of fascist groups.
The newspaper Reynolds News reports today that the Austrian Government has drafted Legislation outlawing literature fomenting anti-Semitism and racial hatred. It has also appealed to all citizens to surrender Nazi publications, and warned that after a period of grace, possession of such literature will be punishable.
