British Jewry will mark the re-establishment of the Jewish State this week-end with prayers of intercession and mass meetings, it was announced today. Deputy Chief Rabbi Dayan Zazarus urged all synagogues in the British Empire to mark the termination of the Palestine Mandate and the creation of be Jewish Provisional Government with special services for peace in Palestine.

Richard Crossman, M.P., today urged the British Government to negotiate firm Treaties with the Jewish State and with King Abdullah of Trans Jordan.Speaking in inns during a debate on oil supplies, he said that Trans Jordan and the Jewish state are now the two dominant forces in the Middle East. Such treaties, he argued, would assure the flow of oil from the area.

“Jewish Women’s Week,” sponsored by leading Jewish women’s organizations in Britain, will be launched here the week of May 23. A special program includes canvassing all Jewish homes in Britain to raise funds for the rehabilitation and social welfare of displaced Jewish women and children in Cyprus and Europe.
