British Prime Minister Tony Blair gave his support for the creation of a “viable Palestinian state.” Denying that he was shifting British policy to placate Arab states uneasy over the U.S.-led strikes against Afghanistan, Blair made the statement Monday after a 90-minute meeting in London with Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat.
