Royal Air Force planes today flew 254 Palestinian Jews, under the protective custody of a British infantry unit and a representative of the International Red Cross, from Kenya to Israel, it was reported here. The repatriated Jews had been detained in Kenya for over a year on charges of terrorism and political offenses in Palestine.
Philip Noel-Baker, Minister of State, told the House of Commons today he was unaware that Pakistan had pledged to send a contingent of troops to aid the Arabs in. Palestine.
Asked if he could make representations to Pakistan on this matter, Noel-Baker said: “All of us hope that the fighting in Palestine will not be resumed and that therefore this question will not arise at all.”
