The seizure by the British authorities in Gibraltar of a small Costa Bican vessel which they charge is intended for the illegal Europe-Palestine immigration run was denounced today as “an act of piracy” by the American League for a Free Palestine.

A spokesman for the League denied any knowledge concerning the ship’s ownership or the use to which it was to be put, but said that as a matter of principle, the State Department would be asked to protest the seizure. The vessel left Jacksonville, Florida, some weeks ago.
