Tremendous demonstrations yesterday blocked traffic in the streets of this city as thousands of Jews protested British raids in Palestine, the destruction of Jewish settlements there, and the mass arrests of Jews.

The largest mass meeting in the history of Rumanian Jewry, which was sponsored by all Jewish organizations, including both Zionist and non-Zionist groups, overflowed into the streets where demonstrators carried banners declaring: “David Conquered Goliath” and “We Demand the Liberation of Jewish Agency Leaders.”
