Businessmen in the metropolitan area–members of congregations of the NY Metropolitan Region of the United Synagogue of America–took time out last week from their busy work schedule to study Torah. Rabbi Bernard Mandelbaum, newly elected chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, presented a text from the Mishneh Torah of Moses Maimonides, noted medieval rabbi, philosopher and doctor. Victor Zager, president of the NY Region, said the businessmen “came together to study moral and ethical questions that are dealt with in our tradition and which can shed light on the daily problems that occur in business and family life.” Other sessions are scheduled.
