The Congress of Jewish Communities concluded its three days sessions here with the adoption of a number of resolutions.
It went on record as approving the proposal of Dr. William Filderman, president of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Roumania, that there be but a single Jewish Community Federation in the country representing all groups of Jewish opinion.
This subject caused considerable discussion and indeed was one of the reasons for the convening of the congress in view of the government law which endangers the unity of Jewish communities.
Deputy Samuel Singer in behalf of the Club of Jewish Deputies appealed that a formal resolution expressing the unified viewpoint be not adopted, but that it should instead be referred to a larger Jewish Congress in which all the Roumanian Jewish communities would be represented.
Dr. Filderman replied however that the present congress had been properly convoked and was therefore qualified to adopt decisions. At the same time he stressed that the congress is seeking an understanding with all interested parties.
