The eighth world congress of the Poale Zion will be held here July 18 to 24. Delegates are expected to attend from Palestine. South America, America, as well as twelve European countries.
The question of merging with the Hitachduth in countries outside of Palestine is scheduled to be taken up.
At a second dinner given by Barney Balaban of Chicago, $23,000 was pledged towards the proposed library of the Chicago Hebrew Theological College. Mr. Balaban is chairman of the committee to raise the necessary funds. The sum of $62,000 was raised at a dinner several weeks ago.
