Canada Decides to Accept a Minister from Israel; 147 Israelis Immigrate to Canada

The Canadian Government has decided to accept a Minister from the state of Israel, it was learned here today. At the present time, Israel is represented in Canada by a Consul-General, with headquarters in Montreal.

A statement revealing that 147 immigrants from Israel entered Canada in the calendar year of 1950, was made in Parliament by Walter E. Harris, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration. The statement came in reply to a question on immigration figures and the countries of origin of the immigrants.
