National Defense Minister Jan MacKenzie today ordered an investigation into the circumstances under which five men wearing the uniform of the Royal Canadian Artillery, a militia unit, participated in a Fascist meeting in the heart of the Toronto Jewish district Monday Night.
“I have a memorandum from my departmental officers concerning this, together with press clippings of the incident,” Mr. MacKenzie declared. “The whole situation will be very carefully investigated.” He declined to reveal what course of action would be followed by his department should the allegations be substantiated.
