Although the Canadian Government has granted permission for the admission of 1,000 European Jewish-war orphans, only 150 children are available for immediate entry, according to reports received by the Canadian Jewish Congress from its representatives overseas.

This information was made public here at the first meeting of the Eastern Region Dominion Council held under the chairmanship of Monroe Abbey. The meeting discussed the anticipated movement of a number of displaced Jews who are to be admitted to Canada and other aspects of the immigration problem.
